Prof. Hamdi Hamama is currently working as clinical professor at the   Faculty of Dentistry Mansoura University, Egypt. He is a Member of Dental Education Board of The Royal College of Physician & Surgeons (Glasgow, UK) and also a fellow of International College of Dentists. He was a clinical assistant professor and Cariology course leader in the Faculty of Dentistry of the University of Hong Kong before he returned to serve in his alum mater.

Prof. Hamama graduated from Mansoura University and obtained Master of Dental Surgery (MDS) in Operative Dentistry & Endodontics. He was conferred Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in the field of Aesthetic and Operative Dentistry from The University of Hong Kong. He was appointed as the International Dental Advisor of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow. 

Prof. Hamama published extensively with a Google h index of 21 and i 10-index of 31. Prof. Hamama is the Secretary of IADR-Egyptian Section of the international Association for Dental Research (IADR). He serves as an Associate Editor in Dental section of the Helyion and Editorial board member. Of International Dental Journal (Flagship journal of FDI).

 

He contributed 2 innovative testing methodologies to the dental field and a “new minimally invasive” clinical bleaching technique referred to as "Focal Bleaching Technique (FBT)". FBT was CE topic of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry Journal, USA, 2013. Also, Dr Hamama has several peer-reviewed journal articles on chemomechanical caries removal methods and bonding to caries-affected dentine. He served as scientific reviewer for some organizations/Journals; International Association of Dental Research (IADR) conferences, Wiley-Blackwell Cariology textbooks proposals and some dental journals (e.g. Journal of Dentistry & Journal of Clinical Oral investigations).
